Differential Thermostat for Solar Water Heating Pump Controller, 220VAC, 7A with Probe

When the solar panel’s temperature exceeds the boiler’s temperature, the pump activates. Once the temperature difference equals the set differential, the relay deactivates, and the pump stops.

Item Description

Perfect for home solar water heating systems!

220V Version with Direct Output.

Technical Data

  • Voltage: 220VAC
  • Temperature Range: 0°C to 90°C
  • Differential Range: 0.3°C to 50°C (adjustable via trimmer)
  • Direct Output: 7A/250V AC
  • Sensors: NTC 10K (non-waterproof)
  • Plate Dimensions: 35 x 49 mm
  • Probe Wire Length: 25 cm (extendable up to 15 m)
  • LED Indicators: For working load and power status

Important Note:

  • The thermostat is not insulated from the main power supply, so touching the plate when it is live is strictly prohibited.
  • Always follow proper wiring for the live (L) and neutral (N) terminals.
  • Use an insulated screwdriver to adjust the differential temperature.
  • Ensure proper insulation of wires, especially when probes are extended.

Method of Operation

When Probe 2 detects a higher temperature than Probe 1, the relay's Normally Open (NO) contact closes, turning on the LED and activating the output. The output remains active until the temperature difference between the probes falls below the set differential.

Setting the Differential Temperature

  1. Set the trimmer to a neutral position.
  2. Slowly rotate it left or right until the LED turns off. This sets the thermostat to the lowest differential temperature.
  3. Rotate counterclockwise to increase the differential temperature. Note: The trimmer is sensitive, and small adjustments can lead to significant changes.

Example Application

  • Place Probe 1 at the boiler’s hot water output pipe.
  • Place Probe 2 at the solar panel's output pipe.
  • The relay output can drive a 220V water pump up to 10A.

When the solar panel’s temperature exceeds the boiler’s temperature, the pump activates. Once the temperature difference equals the set differential, the relay deactivates, and the pump stops.
