Operation:

  • The relay is triggered when Probe 2 detects a higher temperature than Probe 1. The normally open (NO) contact closes, activating the relay and turning on the LED.
  • The relay remains active until the temperature difference between the two probes decreases to the value set by the trimmer.

Setting the Differential Temperature:

  • Start by positioning the trimmer at the middle setting.
  • Slowly rotate left or right until the LED turns off. This sets the thermostat at the lowest differential temperature.
  • Counterclockwise rotation increases the differential temperature. Small adjustments can cause significant changes in the temperature setting due to the trimmer's sensitivity.

Example Setup:

  • Probe 1 can be installed on the outlet pipe of the hot water boiler.
  • Probe 2 can be installed on the outlet pipe of the solar panel.
  • The NO contact can be wired to control a 12V or 220V water pump (up to 10A).

This allows the pump to activate when the solar panel is hotter than the boiler. The pump deactivates once the differential temperature matches the value set by the trimmer.
