User Guide: CAR DRL LED FRONT LIGHTS DELAY TURN OFF TIMER SWITCH 1 TO 720 s

Description: This time relay is designed to control the delay-off function for car DRL (Daytime Running Lights) or LED front lights, with an adjustable timing range from 1 to 720 seconds. It is housed in a compact box and is suitable for automotive applications requiring reliable timing control.

Specifications:

  • Timing Accuracy: 1 to 720 seconds
  • Dimensions:
    • Plate: 35mm x 18mm x 12mm
    • Boxed: 40mm x 17mm x 21mm
  • Relay Output:
    • NO Contact: 20A/12V DC (wired)
    • NC Contact: 10A/12V DC (not wired)
  • Wiring (10 cm wires):
    • Red Wire: Positive 12V+
    • Black Wire: Negative 12V-
    • Two White Wires: Normally open (NO) contact of the relay
    • Orange Wire: Activating 12V+ input (to contact switch)
  • Power Supply: 12V DC with reverse voltage protection
  • Time Adjustment: By trimmer PR-100K (rotate to adjust delay time)
  • Standby Mode: No power consumption when the relay is open

Working Principle: When power is supplied, the relay waits for a 12V+ pulse at the activating input (orange wire). Upon receiving this pulse, the timer activates, closing the relay and holding this position until the set time elapses. Filing a new pulse will restart the cycle.

Application: Delay-Off for Car Front Lights

  • Orange Wire: Connect to the contact switch.
  • Red and Black Wires: Connect to the car battery through a 1A fuse (red to +12V, black to -12V).
  • One White Wire: Connect to the front light.
  • Second White Wire: Connect to 12V+.
  • Other Front Light Wire: Connect to 12V-.

Operation: When the contact switch is turned on, it sends a 12V+ signal to the timer, closing the relay and turning on the lights. When the contact switch is turned off, the timer begins its countdown, keeping the lights on for the set duration (up to 720 seconds) before turning them off.

Important Note: If the power consumption of the lights exceeds 20A, a separate, more powerful relay must be used to prevent damage to the timer.

Wiring Diagram: Follow the provided wiring diagram carefully to ensure correct installation and functionality. This will help protect your vehicle's electrical system and ensure reliable operation of the timer.
