User Guide: Car Dome Interior Light Timer (1-55 Seconds Delay) for Negative Door Switches

This module is designed to replicate a feature found in newer cars, where the interior dome light remains on for a set time after the door is closed, then automatically switches off. It’s perfect for older vehicles without this functionality.

Wiring Instructions:

1. Identify the Dome Light Wiring:

   • Inside the dome light assembly, locate three connectors:
     • One connects to the ground.
     • One connects directly to the battery.
     • The third connects to the door switches, which are connected in parallel directly to the ground.

2. Cut the Door Switch Wire:

   • Cut the wire leading to the door switches.

3. Wiring the Module:

   • Red Wire: Connect to the positive terminal (+) of the battery.
   • Black Wire: Connect to the negative terminal (-).
   • Blue Wire: Connect to the door switch terminal of the dome light.
   • White Wire: Connect to the door switches (the cut wire).

4. Safety Precaution:

   • Connect the red wire through a 3A fuse for added safety and protection.

Operation:

• When power is connected, the timer will complete an initial cycle without activating the light.
• After this, the module is ready for regular use.
• The dome light will switch on when the door is opened and remain on for the set delay time after the door is closed.
• The delay time can be adjusted using the trimmer (clockwise to increase the delay).

Important Notes:

• This module is designed only for cars with a negative door switching signal. Ensure compatibility before installation.
• For safety, always use the 3A fuse on the red power wire.
• The first cycle after installation will complete without activating the dome light.
