User Guide: 12V DC Turn Indicator Circuit

Overview:

This circuit is designed to serve as an indicator for left and right turns on vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, or motorbikes. You will need two identical circuits- one for the left turn signal and one for the right turn signal. The circuit is compatible with LED light strips or individual LED diodes and is powered by a 12V DC source.

• Reverse Voltage Protection:
  The circuit is protected against reverse polarity (incorrect wiring of the power supply).
• Direct 12V Outputs:
  • Can support LEDs or LED strips with a combined power rating of up to 0.10A.
  • Supports up to 5 LEDs with a maximum of 0.5W per LED.

Power Supply and Wiring:

• Power Supply: 12V DC

  • Red wire: Positive (+12V)
  • Black wire: Negative (-12V)

• Output Wiring:

  • Brown wire: Positive output (+12V) for the LEDs
  • 5x White wires: Negative (-) outputs for each connected LED or LED strip

LED Connection and Usage:

• Using LED Strips or Individual Diodes:
  The circuit supports up to 5 LEDs. You may use either a pre-assembled LED strip or connect individual diodes.
  • If using individual diodes with a forward voltage of 1.8V, a 330-ohm resistor should be soldered to each diode to ensure proper operation. Follow the included wiring diagram for correct installation.

Operation:

The module starts when the power is supplied. The connected LEDs will turn on as indicators when the circuit is activated. This circuit can be used for either left or right turn signals.

For installation, connect the red and black wires to the vehicle’s 12V power supply. The brown and white wires should be connected to the LEDs as per the provided wiring diagram.

Recommended LEDs:

• LED Specifications:
  • Forward Voltage: 1.8V
  • Maximum Power: 0.5W per LED
  • Resistor: 330 ohms for each LED diode if not using an LED strip.
